This ongoing series involves drawing countless lines in mantra-like repetition. The resulting images are simultaneously figure and ground– thus creating a union where form becomes content.

The title of the series suggests a system or source of communication. The clearly defined arches and geometric contours are representative of speech (i.e., a visual figure of speech), while tattered and frayed elements allude to substance.
